November 19 – 21, 2021

In the fall of 2021, Bergen Senter for Elektronisk kunst launched the durational symposium, “The Only Lasting Truth is Change” in Bergen, Norway. The symposium investigated future configurations of art, technology, nature and power.

For the symposium, Tenthaus contributed serving a Lekent måltid (Playful meal), a dinner constituted of soup, salad, bread and collecitve games.  

Nourishment and digestion are natural processes which bodies carry out to exist and thrive. Cultural organizations are extended bodies composed by several individuals contributing to a same purpose. The dinner involved games that challenged participants to form, manage and survive as a collective identity deconstructing hierarchy, power relations and roles as we conventionally know them.  

Sharing time and food constituted a common ground and language to talk about and disrupt injustices, art structures and its socio-political inter-dependencies.
