The five episodes of Folk & dyr that are presented on Radio Tenthaus are from Sørenga in Oslo and show how the need for contact with animals is present even if you choose an urban lifestyle. The underlying question of the series is how modern urban development and architecture prepare for this.
Yngvild Færøy and Søssa Jørgensen have worked with sound art, radio and performance for a number of years. As the core of the sound art collective BallongMagasinet, they were important contributors to the Nordic sound art scene from the mid-90s. Among other things, they made a number of radio programs, radio play productions, exhibitions and releases in Norway and internationally, in collaboration with, among others, the OCA / Venice Biennale, NOTAM, NRK, Swedish Radio and RadiOrakel.
In recent years, they have worked with documentary sound and themed vulnerability in humans and animals. Since 2017, they have made the podcast series FOLK & DYR, in collaboration with bl.a. Gallery F 15, Østlandsutstillingen, Bodø Biennale and BEK. A completely new season from Salten is made for the Festival in Northern Norway in June. All episodes can be heard via Soudcloud, and other podcast platforms.
